On the Saturday evening of Rushden Historic Transport Society’s (RHTS) 1940s’ Weekend (http://www.rhts.co.uk/events.htm).
Station 109 is pleased to present a night of 1940s’ entertainment and dance at the John White Golf Club. The event takes place from 7.30pm until 11.30pm and tickets are available at £20 each with meal included or £15 without meal. The show is hosted and entertainment provided by that well-known and accomplished 1940s’ vocalist Peter Wayre supported by 1930s’/40s’ DJ D-Day Darren, with most of the Big Band, Swing and Lindy Hop numbers being spun from 78 shellac!!
Screened vintage film footage of the bands of the day, the dance halls, civilian life in wartime Britain and 1940s’ fashion, plus a 1940s’ raffle and on-site photography studio ~ so dress to impress! Excellent dance floor, loads of parking, licensed bar and an optional meal. Attend the RHTS’ 1940s’ event during the day; call in at Station 109 Vintage Emporium across the road from the 40s’ event site and then join us in the evening for live entertainment and dancing.
