WWII 1937 Pattern Battledress Blouse (SOLD!)

WWII 1937 Pattern Battledress Blouse

WWII/WW2 1937 Pattern BATTLEDRESS Blouse Excellent Vintage Condition

A 1937 pattern WWII Battledress Blouse in excellent condition. Held up to the light we discern one tiny pin-prick to the rear of the jacket. We don’t use the term ‘mint’ as it’s open to interpretation but was it not, we would!

The blouse is marked with a circular black stamp on the inside of the belt, but the markings, though bold are smudged. On the opposite side of the jacket on the inside lining there is a second circular stamp with what appears to be the letters ‘ro’. On one of the pocket linings the figure ‘2’ appears.

The blouse fastens on 5 black buttons, with a hook and eye fastener at the collar. There is another button behind the belt at the hem and the belt itself fastens on a metal buckle. The blouse has a fly front, pleated pockets with concealed buttons and an unlined collar.

On the front of the blouse above the left pocket there is a row of medal ribbons, one containing a small metal rosette.

On the left sleeve there are cloth insignia: ‘Parachute Regiment’ and the ‘Pegasus’ badge; on the right sleeve the insignia is repeated together with a ‘Parachute Qualification’ cloth badge.

Approximate dimensions are:
